Mt. Washington Bicycle Hillclimb Schedule REMINDER: NOTE: The summit can be cold - make sure you give warm clothing to your car ride down. There will be no bag drop area. If you do not have a ride back down you will not be able to participate in the race. Racers will be given a passenger ticket - this passenger ticket goes to your driver. If your driver has TWO tickets they will have free passage up the Auto Road - if you driver has ONE ticket they will pay the Auto Road fee. If a driver has 0 passenger tickets - they will NOT be permitted on the Auto Road. Honda, Acura, Saturn and Jag's that do not have 1st or L (low) gear will NOT be permitted on the Auto Road. Vehicles that are over the weight limit will be asked to remove passengers or will NOT be permitted on the Auto Road. Please refer to Mt. Washington Auto Road's web site for more info. Friday, August 20th |
After crossing the bridge on the Auto Road take a left into the field. Park anywhere there is open space. For safety reasons, as well as Auto Road policy, do not ride your bike or walk on the Mt. Washington Auto Road. There will be one designated place to cross to the tent, now located on the north side of the Auto Road. After parking your car, proceed to this designated area where a crossing guard will assist you in crossing the Auto Road. Please keep all children in hand. |

| Spectators may hike up the Auto Road prior to the start of the race. There will be a steady stream of cars driving up the road so pedestrians should be alert and stay to the side of the road. Remember there will be 600 cyclists racing up the road in four separate waves, please stay off the road until all racers have past you. *VERY IMPORTANT! Please check the Mt. Washington Auto Road website for rates and vehicle restrictions. Be aware that a number of vehicle makes and models are prohibited from using the Auto Road. There are also weight restrictions depending on the type of vehicle. Drivers presenting two or more ride coupons will receive free passage up the mountain.(Every racer receives a ride coupon to give his/her driver) Registration Disclaimer - Tin Mountain Conservation Center reserves the exclusive right to determine who will participate in the Mt. Washington Auto Road Bicycle Hillclimb. We will delay the start time, postpone or cancel the race if the following conditions are reported on the road or summit on the morning of race day: ICE, SNOW, VERY HIGH WINDS or HARD DRIVING RAIN. We will stop the race if conditions are deemed unsafe for the riders in the race. We will not cancel the race for "uncomfortable" conditions. You are participating in a race where the venue, Mt. Washington, is noted for having very challenging weather conditions, please come prepared for the weather. If weather should cause cancellation both days, your entry fee will be graciously accepted as a donation to Tin Mountain. Sorry, NO REFUNDS. Riders that have registered for the Hillclimb may not trade, sell, or exchange their registration with anyone else without the expressed permission of TMCC. Race Day Cancellation In the event of race day cancellation a non supported ride will be available. Choose between 40 miles or 80 miles. See race officials for directions. LUNCH WILL NOT BE CANCELLED We will serve lunch between 11:45 a.m. & 1:00 p.m. Plan your time accordingly. There will be NO dogs allowed PAST THE BRIDGE on the Auto Road. The bridge is located at the base of the Auto Road and must be crossed to reach the festival tent. Dogs are allowed on the summit but must be leashed at all times. Your dog must be in your summit-bound vehicle in order to cross the bridge to proceed to the summit. This includes all forms of 4-legged creatures, creatures with wings and creatures that slither! So be kind - leave your pet at home. MOST IMPORTANT!!! HAVE FUN!!! |
