Hillclimb2006
  Subject: high heart rates

I have used pulse monitors during the last two Mt. Washinton, Equinox and Ascutney hill climbs. - six races in all. at 37 and 38 years old my average pulse rates have ranged from 198 on Ascutney to 190 on Washington. May max heart rate has hovered around 205 for the past 20 years. I definately have to do interval training based on different numbers than what is suggested in the myriad of heart rate based training books and articles. I was wondering if anyone else has a similar physiology? I am not a stupendous athelete although I expect I train less than those around me in the races.
