  Subject: Crashing!!!!

Not a subject we like to discuss but I wanted to solicit some advice...

...Four weeks ago I crashed pretty hard(pothole...the city of Atlanta thought it was be a good idea to fix a gas pipe in the middle of a bike lane and leave the big hole. It was pre-dawn and I didn't see it).

I've crashed plenty of times (like we all have) and bounced back, but this one I can't seem to recover mentally from. Physically I'm OK and was able to ride after 3 weeks but my rides now are so tense and anxious that I'm borderline dangerous. I'm having nightmares and even having a hard time driving my car. I thought by getting back on the horse I would start forgetting but that doesn't seem to be happening. Anyone got any advice or methods how they got over similar experiences...I am seeng a therapist but wanted to see if the Forum had any input.

Thanks

TheKid
